NETLOGON event error 5706

J

Joe Thompson

My netlogon service is failing to start because of a
missing directory
c:\winnt\sysvol\sysvol\SITENAME\scripts. Due to the fact
that SITENAME is a junction, how do I recreate the
directory 'scripts' under it?

This is the only error after a total restore of a domain
controller.

Did you manually share SYSVOL? I have seen this behavior with manually
sharing SYSVOL.

Also you may want to check for the presence of a netlogon\parameters key in
regedt32 (not regedit). If it is not present, you will want to export the
netlogon\parameters key from regedit and re-import the key and restart
netlogon.
