Due to problems I have uninstalled Net Framework v1, 1.1., 2 and 3 and have
reinstalled version 2 only. Do I need, or rather would it be sensible to
reinstall versions 1 and 1.1 or does version 2 cover all eventualities. I
haven't found anything in either the MS knowledge base and Google on the
subject.

AFAIK , each one is separate , but you will find out if you use a
program and it asks for one in particular .

They are separate. A newer version does not replace an earlier one. If
you try to run a program that needs an earlier one, it will fail.

It's your choice. You can install them all now, so you will have
whatever you need if you ever want to run such a program, or you can
wait until you need it.
