Net framework

Hi, I purchased my pc from Dell back in May With Xp & sp2. I now want to
update the graphics driver and was told I must down load net frame work,
before I could download Ati`s catalyst control centre. I then downloaded
both,net first then Ati`s cat but it seemed to cause problems, no response
slow response. So I used I used system restore.I then had a look at
add/remove progs and it shows
net framework 1.1 followed by net f/work1.1 hotfix(kb886903) both have no
file size or dates. Then appears net f/work 2.0 size 88.28 mb last used
9/11/05.Would I be right in not having to down load this and being able to go
straight to the Ati cat download

The ATI driver must have been written in .net, that is
why you need the .net dependency files to install their software.
You shouldn't uninstall these unless you are having problems.
If you installed 1.1 after installing 2.0 then it will cause problems.
You can un-install them, go to MS downloads and look for .net install.

Install 1.1 and 2.0 only.

Is it the .net that causing the problem or ATI ?
