.NET Framework 1.1 Install Error on XP Pro

T. Schultz

On a client's computer, while trying to install .NET Framework 1.1, I
continue to recieve errors when Windows installer is trying to
register System.EnterpriseServices.dll (RegSvcs.exe) on a Windows Xp
Professional (Build 2505 ??) Computer. Does the .NET Framework 1.1
have special OS requirements with XP Pro? Microsoft is very unclear
about specific requirements, and I am assuming other XP users have a
common install error because of all the can't install posts on Google
Groups. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Windows XP Build 2505 is an old beta version that is obsolete.
Inform your client he needs to purchase a new copy of Windows XP
(Build 2600) and perform a "clean install". Once this is done,
problems like the ones you mention will not occur.

All RTM versions of Windows, from Win98 up (Win98, WinME, Win2k, WinXP) all
support .Net framework 1.0 and 1.1 - nothing specific about it.
