Nero 7 premium problems

Hello experts!
Sorry for posting this here but I was unsure where to actually put it.

Ok here's the skinny(thats hip hop wordage for "here's my problem")...
My DVD writer won't write video to DVD disc. It'll write data to a disc no
problem but about half way through burning it says burning failed. I'm using
Nero 7 premium, it has worked fine in the past but now it just wont do it.

It has created a log that I can't make head nor tail of, plus it is the log
from the entire burn process which is about 10 pages long. But I had a look
through it and spotted the error bit which I will post here for you to look
at (and hopefully understand)

Here's is the error bit from the log:
##################################################
[19:13:07] DVDEngine ERROR
[19:13:07] DVDEngine cause: 128 (nmc_processing_exception)
[19:13:07] DVDEngine source: CDVDProcessor::processSector
[19:13:07] DVDEngine description: buffer overflow
[19:13:07] DVDEngine ##################################################

Like I said hopefully you can understand what it means and what I need to do
to rectify it. Also recently I just did a virus/spyware sweep and found a bit
on my machine. I was wondering if this had anything to do with it?

Any advice is much appreciated

It sounds like the drive isn't transferring data quickly enough. Look at
the information on MVP Hans-Georg Michna's page about DMA/PIO and see
if that applies to your situation.

Thank you for your suggestion.
I had a look at the site and quite frankly it scared the hell out of me! I
read the explaination of what DMA/PIO is but I didn't understand it. I am not
too computer savvy to do some of the things it suggested. I know the basics
and how to navigate round a PC but stuff like that I am not too confident
about! If it is the problem you suggested do you know how to fix it?
(simplified for a dumb person)

Again your advice is appreciated

I can't simplify it any more than Hans-Georg did. If you aren't
confident about fixing the problem yourself, there is no reason to -
take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local
version of BigStoreUSA). There is no shame in doing this; I take my car
to the mechanic without feeling inadequate. :)
