Needing a password

In Access 2000, database requires a password but none was
set. Now regardless of admin rights or not no one can
access or open this database. I am unable to create a new
database with out entering this needed password. I have
administrator rights to the local station as well as the
network itself. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Access
with no success. I am running Windows 2000 sp 4 on
workstation. The needed database lives on the server
(Netware 5) (I have rights to folder).

I used a password crack and it stated no password set.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you

Sounds like you are being asked for a userid and password, not a database
password. If this is correct, keep reading. If not, let us know. If you can
open the file on another computer, then that will also prove that we are
dealing with a workgroup password, not a database password.

Asking for a userid and password means that you are joined to a workgroup
where the ADMIN userid has a password set.

Use the Microsoft Workgroup Administrator program (in the MS Office Folder)
to rejoin the default workgroup (MDW) file.
