Need to do several things in Word 2007

Ok, my boss is a confirmed WP user and I, of course, use Word. He says there
are thing's Word can't do that WP can. I need to see if there's a way to do
the following in Word:
1. Have a favorites list that goes straight to certain folders or files
on your computer from within Word,
2. In WP you can actually search for a certain word in just 1 folder. Is
there a way to do that in Word?

I'd really appreciate any help

1. You can add folders to the Places Bar in Word. (See
http://www.gmayor.com/customize_the_word_places_bar.htm

2. You can search for a specific word (or text string) in all the files in a
certain folder in Word, but it's much easier to do it in Windows Explorer.
If you insist on doing it in Word, in the Open dialog, use Tools | Search.
You can specify which folders to search.

are thing's Word can't do that WP can. I need to see if there's a way to do
the following in Word:
1. Have a favorites list that goes straight to certain folders or files
on your computer from within Word,

To create a list of favorite folders, click the Office button and
choose Open (or press Ctrl+O). Navigate to one of your 'favorite'
folders. Then right-click the vertical pane on the left side of the
dialog and choose to add the folder to the list in that pane. You can
then right-click the new entry and move it up or down, or rename it.

To create a list of favorite files, after each one is opened, click
the Office button and then click the pushpin icon next to the file's
name. That will keep the file in the list until you unpin it.
2. In WP you can actually search for a certain word in just 1 folder. Is
there a way to do that in Word?

Older versions of Word had a Find function in the Open dialog, but it
never worked all that well. In Word 2007 it has been removed. Use one
of the desktop indexing programs, such as Windows Instant Search or
Google Desktop. If you don't want to use those, there's the Search
function in Windows Explorer.
