Need to delete duplicate bookmarks

M

ms

My Firefox bookmark file has duplicated itself. I've used Compass to eliminate the
duplicate folders, but still have many duplicate bookmarks.

Dupeless does not want to search a htm file.

DupeLocator didn't open the htm file.

DoubleKiller, even when I added the htm extension, didn't open the htm file.

Duplifind 1.4 finds the duplicates, shows them, I can Select All, but see no way
to then delete them or move them to a backup file.

AM Deadlink 1.41 finds duplicates, can delete each one manually, can't select all
and delete.

Need some advice.

TIA

Hi Mike,

Import your bookmarks file into Jetlinks - which does not allow
duplicates - and then export to a new "Netscape" bookmark file.

I use Jetlinks as my primary bookmark file, occasionally delete all
Mozilla's bookmarks and import a new file. AFAIK you should be able to
import these "Netscape" files in Firefox too.

Program: JetLinks

Thanks Susan. I will wait on this one, it is "all or nothing" approach, I hope
someone will answer on the ones in my post, they work more gradually.

AM-Deadlink (I don't have the url handy) can find duplicate entries in
your bookmarks.html file easily.

I said that in my OP, but it does not Select All to delete easily.

That's up to you of course - but if you copy the original Bookmark.htm
file to a new location you should be able to re-import it if you don't
like the results with Jetlinks. . .

Under "edit", u can select "find", then "clear".... i just downloaded it,
and didn't have time to test it...when u have IE + Firedox, all bookmarks
are loaded together, so carefully backup up, because what it will
remove, that's the question .

No it's not suitable for 100 duplicated files, you must select manually.
