Pia,
This is what I did.
Started at A1 - Blank, B1 - Jan, D1 - Feb, F1 - Mar
A2 - Blank, B2 - Oranges, C2 - Apples, D2 - Oranges, E2 - Apples, F2 -
Oranges, G2 - Apples
A3 - Adam, B3 - 2,C3 - 3, D3 - 4, E3 - 5 F3 - 6, G3 - 7
A4 - Bern, B4 - 1,C4 - 7, D4 - 8, E4 - 9, F4 - 1, G4 - 1
A5 - Collin, B5 - 3, C5 - 4, D5 - 5, E5 - 8, F5 - 1, G5 - 1
A6 - Dave,B6 - 5, C6 - 6, D6 - 7, E6 - 1, F6 - 2, G6 - 4
Select the area by: Left mouse click and hold, drag to include all cells
(A1:G6)
Select the chart wizard(bar graph icon).
Select Column, first choice (Cluster column).
Data Range tab, Select Rows
Select Series tab, Names should be in series window
Select "Next" fill-in desired info.
Select "Next"
Select either "As new sheet:" or "As object in:"
Select "Finish"

Just create a column chart from your data. By default, Excel will put
Months and Type on the x-axis and each person will be a different
series.
