Need RC1 Image!

I have one machine that is still running Beta 2 and obviously, I need to
update it this month. I'd like to upgrade rather than reinstall, but I can't
find my RC1 disk. Does anyone still have this image anywhere?

Fred,
Windows Vista is a released product.
If you wish to continue to use it then please purchase the appropriate
version for your needs.
There is no reason to try and continue to use pre release unsupported
product.
(Also all pre release versions including RC1 and RC2 expire in May 2007
anyway)

I do have a licensed version of Ultimate, but I would like to keep my
settings and applications. So from what I've read so far, the only way I can
get from Beta 2 to RTM is though RC1.

That's correct, that what the website says.

Have you actually tried it, though? Seems odd that RC2 won't do
an in-place-upgrade, either.

Personally, I'd use Windows Easy Transfer for your settings and documents,
and then just reinstall your programs. It may be more time consuming, but
will probably make for a better install. Not to mention, a clean install is so
much quicker than an upgrade install.
