Need query parameter on Form

S

Scott B

Greetings,

I asked this question about 12 months ago, but I cannot find a copy of it
here and I have not located it in the archives. I want to display the
parameter from a query in the form header of the Form driven by the query.
The parameter is [Type Arrival Date].

Thanks for the answer and the patience.

Add a text box with a control source of
=[Type Arrival Date]

Are you sure of that Duane?

That works fine in reports, but, using AXP, I could not get
that to work (#Name) in a form without adding
[Type Arrival Date] to the query's field list.

Ooops! My head was in reports, not forms.

However, if [Type Arrival Date] was the parameter/criteria under a specific
date field such as [ArrivalDate], it seems that the value entered could be
displayed on the form using the field [ArrivalDate].

Regardless, I never use parameter prompts since they are not very flexible.
Controls on forms work much better.

I never use parameter prompts either. I just wanted to make
sure I wasn't missing something.

First, thank you both for the help. I should have thought of that myself.
I am embarrased. Secondly, can you elaborate on the controls on forms
appproach or where I can get further info?

Again, thanks,
Scott B

There are number of good examples at Martin Green's site
http://www.fontstuff.com/access/index.htm.
