Need help with scanning pictures and printing software

Hello,

I just started scanning some of my 4x6 pictures and making copies on
photo paper but I am having some problems which I hope someone could
help me out with. First my scanner is an Epson 1650 Perfection and
printer is a Canon i960. The first problem is the scanner is scanning
the picture but is leaving out about a 1/16 to an 1/8 of the picture
around the edges and I don't know why. I've used different software
such as the Epson Smart Control Panel, Easy Photo-Print,
PhotoImpression, and Qimage but the same thing happens. Then when I
print it out the colors on the copy have a more reddish hue to it than
the original which has a more greener hue to it. I can twiddle around
with the color in the software I guess but I would prefer to fix the
source of the problem. I have all the latest drivers for the scanner
and printer, and am using the best photo paper for the Canon printer
which is "Canon Photo Paper Pro". Does anyone know what the problem
might be? Also what is the best software for doing these jobs?

If you scan in manual mode, you get a scan box which you can drag the sides to
fit the scan area you desire. It sounds likethe box is smaller than the
pictures you are scanning.

Photoshop is the best software, but it is expensive. You might like Adobe
Elements ($99). You should be able to fix the color problem if you scan in
manual mode. Good luck,

Thanks, I will try manual mode.

If you are getting in your prints what you see on the screen chances are the
monitor needs calibrated. It needs to be adjusted so you see the image
correctly.
