need help with IPv6

I just got a new HP laptop with Vista and am experiencing problems with the
internet that I believe stem around IPv6. Whenever I connect to the internet
with my laptop (it has vista and ipv6...) the internet stops working on my
laptop and on all the other computers in my house using the same router. The
moment I disconnect from the internet on my laptop and turn the router off
and then on... the internet works again. So I was wondering if anyone had any
suggestions as to how to fix this so that I can go on the internet with my
laptop along with any of the other computers in the house (all have ipv4).

Is it possible to remove the ipv6? And if so is this a bad idea? Could I
always add it later if need be? (Like years down the road when that's all
computers use because ipv4 has been phased out...)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Thanks.

also: the router is a linksys wrt54g. my laptop is the only one with vista,
all 3 other computers in the house using the same router have XP.

queuce - IPv6 and IPv4 function transparently to each other. each does not
"interfere" with the other. Vista uses IPv6 for functions such as remote
assistance and on-screen communication (forgot the title).

regarding "...Whenever I connect to the internet with my laptop (it has
vista and ipv6...) the internet stops working on my laptop and on all the
other computers in my house using the same router...." suggests a change in
the router settings via improper setup.
Check the properties of the connection and results of ipconfig may be of
value.

I use the same router with wireless and wired clients, both XP and Vista,
laptop and desktops.

Thanks for your response. So even though my laptop uses IPv6 it won't
interfere with any of the other computers using IPv4... so you suggest an
internet/router connection/configuration problem.

Here is what it says when I run ipconfig/all in command:

Do you see anything that you think should be changed to make it work? Is
there some sort of setting with my router I need to look into?

Thanks for all your help.

Get the specifics of your wireless nic card. Go to the linksys forums and
see if anyone has similar problems with the 54 G router and that card. Check
for latest drivers for both the NIC and router.
