Need help with Adobe 8.0 !!

Recently (72 hours ago) installed Vista on my IBM T41p and so far it's a
total love-hate relationship,
I tried installing Adobe Reader 8.0 last night but can't complete the
installation. After downloading and when
trying to run, I get a Windows Installer message "The Temp folder is on a
drive that is full or is inaccessible. Free up space on the drive
or verify that you have write permission on the Temp folder." There is lots
of space on the drive, any ideas folks?
If I try to open a .pdf, I get prompted to install Adobe and when accepting
version 5.05 gets installed successfully.
Thanks folks!

UAC has to be enabled for Adobe 8 Reader to install.. if you want a nice
little PDF reader which installs painlessly with UAC turned OFF, try this
one.. I use it myself..

Have you turned UAC off? Turn it back on.

You can turn on UAC by going to Control Panel/User Accounts > Turn User
Account on or Off
