If you're typing text in the slide placeholder (i.e., the place where
you normally type text on the slide), you can't align text with
equations in the way that you can do it in Word. It's not Equation
Editor's fault, and you're not doing anything wrong; it's just the way
PowerPoint is designed. You can't "wrap" text with any type of object
-- clip art, picture, equation, chart, etc.
You already indicated you know how to create an equation, so that's a
start. The only way to wrap the text and equation together is to
create both in Equation Editor. We have an article on our website
about using MathType witih PowerPoint, but much of it applies to
Equation Editor as well. The end of the page discusses creating text
and equation together. These techniques apply equally to both Equation
Editor and MathType.
