need help setting up windows mail

i get mail just can not send.
Im running Vista home

I don't think you have the correct SMTP server name.
Verizon's online email setup information is a bit of a mess because they
have four different email systems. You will have to pick out the
one that applies to you and follow the prompts:

Also, it is unlikely that you should be using the SSL option.
Turn off the SSL option by going to Tools, Accounts, select that account,
Properties, Advanced.
