I need help with logging on. Here is what happened. I have only use
Access to enter in data to a database that was created by my boss.
was using Access 2002. My boss left the company and I started to us
his computer which has Access 2003 installed on it. He had left hi
password with me so if I ever needed to change anything I could. H
really only put the security on it so no one could change or delet
any information that he had created. The problem is no when I ente
Access it tells me that I don't have Open/Run Permission. Even usin
his password I still get the same message. Is it because when our I
department uninstalled his items on the computer and installed me o
as the user (the first time I went into Access on his computer it ha
asked for my password) it's picking up my password. Like I said,
have only used Access to enter the data into tables that were alread
created for me so I not really sure what I'm doing. Please help me i
you can. I need to get into it so I can print my reports. Thanks s
much

You probably are not joined to the correct workgroup. How did you log onto
the database before your IT department changed things? If it was through a
desktop or menu shortcut, then you were probably specifying the workgroup
file in that shortcut. Try locating any .mdw files on the machine and
joining them, then try logging in after joining. If you find one that works,
then build a desktop shortcut with this as the Target:

"Full path to MSACCESS.EXE" "Full path to your database" /wrkgrp "Full path
to the workgroup file"

and use that to log into the database.

You can also try rejoining the default workgroup file named "system.mdw". Do
a filesearch on the machine to find it, then click Tools - Security -
Workgroup Administrator and join that file.
