Need help on Window ME icon.

Hi
Those icon that representing each individual types of files in my window ME
has changed since my borther-in-laws installed a freeware. I have
uninstalled the freeware but the problem is still there. I could not get the
right file icons now. I mean, for example, file for office words does not
have the right icon that visibily for me to identify.

Anyone can help? Thank you in advance.

in my documents, go to tools/folder options, click on tab files types. Now
choose doc, click advanced button. now you can change the icon. do this for
all icons, I assume you can that it is just the icons that are the problem
and not something is opening with the wrong program.
