NEED HELP!!! Event Viewer Error

Recently I DCPROMOed a 2003 server in our Domain. Everything works fine
except when I go to view the Event Logs. When I click on All of the logs
(App, Sys etc) I get an Access denied message...except for the Security Log.


I've tried recreating the *.evt files, following Microsoft's KB Article but
it did not work. When I tried to view the logs remotely from another
server....I starting getting the problem on that server!!! So its
spreading...

Any help will be deeply appreciated....I'm stuck.

In w2k3 you can enable or disable the ploicy for Guest access to the event
logs

The built in GUEST Group does not have access to the event logs by
default. My bet would be that the account you are logged in with is
a member of the GUESTS or DOMAIN GUESTS groups. Check both of these
groups and makes sure that it doesn't contain any user or group that
contains a user who needs access to the Event logs.
