need header/trailer record using export wizard and specs

I have created a fixed-width file using the export wizard and specification.
I have found out that the recipient of this file needs a header/trailer. How
do I accomplish this?

Hi,
you can create a new text file, add header there using Print #, then read
exported file using Line input, save it to this new file, etc. You can find
sample some in access help file

Alex, I know SQL but unfortunately not VB. I looked for example in help with
no success. Is there another method?

Well, you can also write a batch file with will combine files, like

copy header.txt + output.txt result.txt

something like this, and then run it with Shell function
