i just got need for speed yestrday now today when i go in underground mode and do a race the screen goes blue and say's error and then i have to restar my cocmputer

The contents of that STOP error might help solve the problem.
To analyse the error, try the steps in: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm
If the error indicates a file name that begins with ati, or nv (nVidia)
the most likely solution would be to install the latest drivers using
the instructions at: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits/Video.html#drivers
Of course, make sure you have the latest patch available for your games.
