Need Excel Solver Add-in

I need the Solver Add-in for Excel (XP Professional
2002), but it is not on the CD that came with my
computer. The CD I have is Microsoft Office XP Version
2002 Service Pack 1. First of all, am I looking at the
right CD? None of the others appear to be what I'm
looking for. Secondly, Solver is not on this CD. How do
I get it? I need it ASAP for my statistics class...
Please help!
Thank you!

Hi Cindy,

You may well have Solver on your sytem. Try:

Tools | Add-Ins | Scroll down the alphabetical list and, if Solver is there,
check it.

If it is not on your system, you will need to load it from your original
Office / Excel CDs - not the Service Pack CD which is a maintenance pack.

Hi Cindy,

Just one addition. If you do not find Solver in the Add-Ins list, go to
Start | Search and enter Solver.xla. If you find it, make a note of its
address, return to the Tools | Add-Ins box, click the browse button and
navigate to the Solver.xla folder and, lastly, select the solver file and
confirm your selection.

Norman

Thanks, Norman. I must not have the full Office CD; the only one I fin
is the service pack. Solver is an option in the checkbox, but it's no
on my computer, so it's asking for a CD. I wonder what Dell woul
charge for a replacement CD? I'm on hold with them now, but have bee
for over an hour so I don't think they're coming back. I've alread
wasted at least 8 hours on the phone with this issue and I am WA
frustrated.
Thanks for your help,
Cind
