Need DSL router recommendation

I need a router. I tried a Linksys BEFSR41, but 1) it was defective and 2)
it only allows 10 forwarded ports. I tried the router in my Westell 2100 DSL
Modem/router, but it caused an odd connectivity problem that looked like
some sort of port blocking. Could not resolve it, tech support clueless. I
stuck a Netgear RP614V2 in front of it (replacing the Linksys) and all of
the other problems went away, but the Netgear seems to have some sort of
incoming connection limit. I've positively identified the router as the
problem. With the netgear, my opennap server stops accepting connections at
about 200 users. With the Linksys I could host 1000 easily.

So - now what ? I need a router - any recommendations?

I just got a D-Link (DI-604) and it works fine for me
....but have no idea if it would work for you...
