Need assistance with an extended formula

Hi all, Excel 2007

I need to have a formula that will calculate the following data:

Salary +30% of the salary +20% of that total +Margin of profit Actual
Course Cost = how many students per class do they need to meet their overall
expense and margin of profit to meet the minimum margin of profit of 10%,
and then at a profit of 20%, 30%, 40 percent and 50%

So far I have been able to figure out the first 3, but, I want to be able to
have these columns set up to display the data,
and then have a column that will display just the percentage of profit and
the number of signups per class needed to meet the profit levels. It will
be based on individual class courses, so can keep track of any changes in
costs.

What kind of formula would I need to do this?

Here is sample of what I have now in three columns, but, this does not seem
right:

A B C D
E F G
No of hours HourlyRate +%30 +20% Course Price Margin of
Profit Sign-ups needed

I admit that I am not good with formulas, but, I was thinking that this
would calculate the number of hours of class duration, times the hourly rate
of the Instructor, the add 30% to that total, then 20% to that total to get
the total expenses. Then calculate the Course Price, a margin of profit,
and then calculate how many students would need to sign up for the class in
order to meet the minimum margin of profit. And then calculate the profit
margin for any additional signups.

This way, the employee responsible for handling student signups would be
able to have the information at hand and know at a glance how many students
are needed to meet the required profit level, and if that number of sign-ups
is not met before the class schedule date, the class will need to be
cancelled.

I know this is not very clear and I apologize, but, I am just getting
started and trying to find the best method of entering the data to start
with, and how I should structure the formula. I am in hopes someone can set
me in the right direction.

Jan :)
