Need advise with multiple drives..........

hi I have 7 hard drives in my system using SCSI cards but want to know
is it possible to set up something where I can change a hard drive
(using rails) with out powering down. (this would benefit power
consumption of having all drives hooked up and give me more power to
play my games and do multimedia. I could just make a library of drives
and use the ones I wish).
What is it called? what requirements do I need to meet? What hardware
do I need to add to my machine and how does it work??
TIA!

Easier than rails possibly is either firewire or USB. For that matter you
could simply make a wooden storage frame out of bubinga or rosewood and then
enjoy the aesthetics with glowing LEDs.

It is possible to get a drive cage that sits in 3 5 1/4 slots and holds 4 3
1/2 disks (get two).
If the drive cage and your scsi card supports hot swap you can do as you are
suggesting.
