I currently have 3 reports that feed off each other. I have a consolidated
financial report that is generated from a summary report that is generated
from a detailed report. I would like to be able to view the consolidated
report and be able to "drill down" to the summary or detailed information.
Not all of the columns, rows and cells lineup so this is going to be a task.
Any suggestions???? Best program to use? Access or Excel? Thanks for your
assistance.

There are like 20 factors that go into that decision, but to take some useful
guesses.

Your application sounds like it's heavily number related.

You're really going to have to describe your data and process that you want
to database rather than discussion reports at this point.

This is probably going to hinge on whether or not your data will nicely fit
into a "flat" structure, I.E. that the dtata does not include "one to many"
type relationships. If so, then you have data with either Access or Excel
can properly handle, and if not, then only Access will handle it well.

Excel has the advantages of being easier to learn, and is naturally much
stronger in doing real time numerical calculations.

Access is a broader, more powerful program regarding information storage,
including for data entry and reports.
