Name server errors

After set up primary name server on windows 2000 advanced
server, there is a error in DNS event. It says this
computer only has host name but no domain name. In other
words, this computer is named as host instead of
host.domain.com. Currently this server is working in
workgroup instead of domain. Do the name server have to
join domain?

No, but you can give it a primary DNS suffix without joining it to a domain.
Do that on the Network Id tab on the System Control panel, (right click on
My computer choose properties.)
