#NAME? error for no apparent reason...

Hello

I'm getting the #NAME? error and I'm at a loss.

I have the following formula in cell D4:

=EOMONTH(D1,0)

Now, the value of D1 is limited by a droplist to: 1/07/2008; 1/08/2008;
1/09/2008 and so on... (in Australian date format DD/MM/YYYY).

My expectation is that cell D4 would display the last day of the same month
selected as the date in D1.

Any idea where I've gone wrong? I've checked the Excel Help files and
everything seems okay.

Thanks in advance,

Joe.

EOMONTH is part of the Analysis ToolPak, which is an add-in. If you have a
version previous to 2007 it won't install automatically. Do tools>add-ins
and select it, if it was installed the first time it will now work,
otherwise you would need the office/excel CD

Hi Peo and David

Thank you for your responses. I probably wasn't very clear in my inityial
post in that I already have the Analysis Toolpak installed.

The formula used to work in a particular worksheet, but stopped. I have now
deisgned a new one and it all seems okay. As for what went wrong with the
other sheet, I guess it'll just have to be one of those "computer mysteries".

Thanks again for your help.

Joe
