Mystery

Hope I peaked your interest with subject line. I need help.

Using Vista and Windows Mail. Currently on WiFi. My email is Peoplepc.
Since 12/12 I haven't been able to send emails to my contacts with Peoplepc
at their email ISP. Since I also have Peoplepc, I've tried sending myself
emails. I don't receive them either. This is only those with Peoplepc
emails. Others with Juno, MSN, ATT.net, etc. etc. are received. So I went
to a landline and tried it and the emails worked. Bottomline, with WiFi the
emails do not go; with landline they do.

I also tried sending emails to myself and others with Peoplepc using my
other laptop with XP and Outlook Express and the WiFi. No luck there either.

But....if I go Peoplepc's homepage and sign onto their WebMail, I can send
and receive emails as can those with Peoplepc.

I've called and worked with PeoplePC ensuring that my "account" is set up .
correctly.Don't know where to go from here. Help.

Two things.

You did not mention whether there is an error message when you try to
send. If there is, you should have included a copy of the error message,
since that will pinpoint the cause of the trouble.

You haven't explained where this mysterious WiFi service is coming from.
I take it that the provider of the WiFi service is a different entity than PeoplePC?
If that is the case, it is not surprising that you would get a send failure.

And, What anti-virus are you using?

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.
