Mysterious reappearance of the same slide

TomZ

I have a presentation with 60 slides; no hyperlinks, no animation -- manually
clicking to get to the next slide. After I click slide 15 to get to slide 16,
then click slide 16 to get to slide 17, slide 15 reappears. I can go back to
slide 16 but when I click to advance to slide 17, the same thing happens
again -- slide 15 reappears. I can end the show and veriify in the slide
sorter view that slide 17 is right where it's supposed to be, but slide 15
appears when i run the slideshow. Has anyone ever encountered a problem like
this? Solution?

Many times I will put an "invisible" box over the entire slide, and then
hyperlink that box to a specific slide so that I can control the flow of the
slideshow. The box is set to have no outline, and transparency is set to
100%, so you can't see it. However, you can click on it, and if it's the
top-most item, you can't click on anything else. Check for an invisible box
or maybe some other item that is hyperlinked to Slide 15 from Slide 16.

Hi Tom

Can you advance to slide 17 if you use something other than the mouse (e.g.
page down, down arrow)?

What Eric and Lucy said and ...

Do you have any custom shows? When you go to Set Up Show are all slides
set to play. Are any slides hidden.

I believe I could reproduce this behavior if I set slides 1-14 and 17-60
to be hidden and then set the slide show to loop continuously. This
should have the symptoms you describe because when slide 1 is hidden, it
plays anyway. Then, when you are on a hidden slide, clicking to advance
will take you to the next slide regardless of whether or not it is
hidden. That will get you through to slide 15. Now slide 15 will advance
to slide 16 as expected, but if slide 16 is not hidden, a click will
advance to the next non-hidden slide. Since there are no more non-hidden
slides, it will advance to the end of the show, except if loop
continuously is checked in which case it will go back to the beginning,
but this time it might not play slide 1 (I'm not sure about this) and
will go directly to the next non-hidden slide. Of course, this might
reproduce the problem but not actually be the problem you are having.

Do you use a wireless mouse or remote control? Then change the battery,
these things start to react funny, when the power is low.

Best regards,
