mysearch bar

my IE 6 seems to have been attacked by the mysearch parasite. it has a
search bar at the top which cannot be removed, and my homepage is set
to //mysearchnow.com. There is nothing related to 'mysearch' in my
add/remove programs list, and i have run both norton and adaware.

can anyone help me out? or link me to another thread if it has been
brought up. thanks!

Rather than walk you through the manual uninstall, try Ad-ware Personal SE,
available at download.com

Should get it

If not, you will need to drop into safe mode by tapping the F8 key, then
delete the following folder

C:\PROGRAM FILES\MYWEBSEARCH

You will also need to remove to registry settings, the easiest way being to
download a program called BHO demon (try a google search), or a regedit
search

Really, though, start with Adaware since if you have this, you likely have
other spyware programs on your machine.
