My WMV files won't play in my slideshow

Hi,

I have inserted a WMV file into a presentation, and it is set to start
automatically as the slide it is on appears. The file will play in Windows
Media player. What could I be doing wrong in PowerPoint. I have inserted
many of these in the past without problems. Since about 9p.m. last night, I
am now having this problem with every WMV file I try in any PowerPoint 2003
presentation. Any ideas? I'm hosting a seminar tomorrow and will be
demonstrating how to insert media. I usually have no problems, so this is
unusual.

Many thanks,

Karen.

Karen,
Have you installed any new software on your system? If so, that is very
likely to have affected how your videos play.

I would strongly suggest you read the tutorials on media that Austin has put
together. You can find them at: http://www.pfcmedia.com/Tutorial.htm

Hi Karen,

but I suppose you created a new folder for the presentation? Sometimes it's
only the path which is too long. Multimedia files in PowerPoint do not work,
if the path is longer than 128 characters (incl. filename), and spaces in
file name may cause problems. So try moving your presentation and media
files to a folder C:\Test.

Best regards,
Ute

Hi Ute,

Thanks very much for your advice. I'm going to give that a go now. I've
tried all of the other suggestions and it's still driving me mad!

Take care,

Karen
