Bought a brand new HP computer several months ago with vista. Mind you
I'm not a computer beginner, but certainly no expert either, as you'll
see & knew absolutely nothing about vista (at the time) I have used
windows 98 & XP for years though. The computer worked okay, but
everything (Internet & e-mail is about all I use) ran slow. Just
figured it was vista not being a good program, to I didn't have enough
RAM. Decided to give up on vista & here's where my journey begins. I
ordered an Ubuntu disc & couldn't get it to load as the pages wouldn't
fit on my screen for some reason. The bottom of all the pages were
lopped off, so finally gave up on that. Then ordered an XP Pro OS from
e-bay & loaded that. It loaded okay except it took out my modem driver
& couldn't access the Internet. So, downloaded the modem driver from
HP & tried to install it, but that didn't work. So, decided to load
vista back in & keep it as a spare computer. Lo & behold after I re-
loaded vista back in everything worked much better. Now everything
runs up to speed & is fine. Have no I dea why? I still like my other
computer (XP with Firefox) maybe a bit better though. Anyway, decided
I didn't need the XP OS as it doesn't work for me. Can't get back all
my time messing around, but maybe at least get some money back from
the wasted money spent on the XP progam. So, I listed it for sale on e-
bay & e-bay deleted my auction saying someone from microsoft
complained it violated their copywrite. Guess they're worried about
lost revenue or something? Jeez, all I want is to sell the XP OS
program (for a loss) as I can't even use it.
