'My Videos' folder is hot

Hello. I've been working on a video project using Movie Maker and Visual
studio. My working folder has been 'my videos'.
But suddenly this folder has become a neutron bomb. Whenever i try to load
or save a file to the folder the appropriate browse window appears then the
program either closes or crashes with an 'encountered a problem in qdv.dll'
error.

Has anyone experienced anything like this and can someone give me some clues
as to what could be causing this?Thanks

I do know that this dll is updated with directx8. Perhaps some installed software has overwritten the dll with an older version. Its a codec by the way. Try getting a directx update and see if this fixes it. If it doesnt, google the web for this dll. there are several sites that offer dll files. The qdv.dll is stored in windows\system32\dllcache.
