My Sandisk Reader

My op. Sys is XP
In the past I was able to put in my memory card in my USB2
sandisc reader.
on insertation of the memory card a choice of downlaod
options would come on the screen.

Now I put in the card & nothing happens.
I can get the pictures on the card by going to my H
drive, but that's not the point.
Also on my tray an icon comes up if I want to safely
remove hardware (USB) that never happenrd befor eather.
Please help! I don't know what happened

Just wondering...does the following make a difference?

Right click your "H" drive and from the menu...go to...
Properties / Autoplay tab...

From the drop window...choose...Pictures...

Left click the...Restore Defaults button / Apply / OK.
