My Puter broke

Ok. There was a password put on my computer, but i didnt know the pass word.
So i desided to override it by useing a cd. I used the wrong cd. It was a
recovery cd. But it didnt recover anything, it instead wiped out my computer.
I finally got the password, but theres nothing there. All i have is a
background, nothing else. I have no tool bar, no start button, nothing. Ive
been trying to reload windows xp on to my computer, but it will not work and
just tells me that there is no operating system. Also when it gets to the
sign in page, it tells me i have to activate my windows, which i cant do,
because i dont have a start button. Ive tried everything i can think of, but
i still cant get anything back. I dont really care about loseing files or
anything, i just want it to work again, so what can i do? Can it be fixed?
PLEASE HELP

Some recovery CDs are actually a set of CD(s). Others rely on a hidden
partition on the hard drive to do most of the recovery.

Find all of them and then contact the PC maker's support site about how to
properly use them.

Note that such recovery CD(s) will work correctly only on the computer
(make/model) they originally came with, and not on a random computer. If
your current computer is not the one that came with these CD(s), then I
susgest that you either find the correct ones or buy a full retail copy of
XP and perform a clean install.

Note: If you can not find the correct recovery CD(s), then it might be
worth contacting the PC maker's support group and ask if you can buy
replacment(s)s, which are probably cheaper than getting a new XP license
(about $200 for home edition).

before spending bucu dinnero on xp and if you do not have recovery cds like
Bob suggested if you can get to a working computer use this link
http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm you will need floppy disks formatted
this will at least get your puter running and may be able to "salvage it's
innards"
