My Pictures Task Link

I recently lost the Task Link column on the left side of the My Pictures
folder and actually the My music, my video. This task bar is has scanning
photos, slideshow, etc as choices. In addition, I can no longer view my
pictures as slideshow. I have clicked the folder button, but it only brings
up the folder view. In addition, when I go to the Internet, I now see my
pictures as a website I have visited. It is like My Pictures is now a
website, not a picture that has the tasks links associated with it. Can
anyone help me get this task link choice back, or do I need to restore the
computer to a previous date?
Thanks so much

Try this, maybe it will restore the option:

Go to...Start / Run and type
(or copy/paste):

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"

Thank you so so much - you are a genius - I don't know what happened to cause
me to lose that, but is this a driver that I ran? No matter - it worked and
I am very very greatful - I have asked many people how to fix and you were
the only one with the correct answer.
Have a great day.

Hard to say what caused the issue...
it was probably something you installed.

You're welcome.

Thanks for the update.
