my outlook 2000 won't open

When i try to open Outlook 2000, i get the message "Errors have been detected
in the file: C:\docs and settings\application
data\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst ....use the inbox repair tool". and it
will not open at all.
I have used this program for several years now and its probably overloaded
but i still need to access info from there. Can anyone help? Thanks

Did you use the inbox repair tool to repair your PST? That error message
indicates that your PST file is probably corrupted (possibly due to being
oversize but not necessarily). The inbox repair tool would attempt to repair
the corruption.

Do you need instructions to use the inbox repair tool if you haven't done so
already?
