my network places empty on one pc

I set up a network with the wizards.. both windows xp.. both wizards
worked... I did have a spool problem on the second pc, but resolved that in
command prompt. I'm able to have one computer see the other... even used
the printer... I can see the connection in My Network Places.. yet on the
other pc My Network Places shows nothing.. I don't see how to make this
work... Firewalls are off.. This is all being done through a Linksys router

Are you logging on to a Win9X machine by
pressing cancel instead of using a user name and
password? That'll git ya every time! Try logging
on ...

What firewalls are off? Any third party firewalls?

Are both computers in the same workgroup?

Please provide ipconfig information for each computer.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.
Identify operating system (by name and version) with each ipconfig listing.

Make sure the browser service is running on both computers. Control Panel -
Administrative Tools - Services. Verify that the Computer Browser service is
started.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

There is a network setup wizard on the WinXP cd
you might use. Autorun the cd and choose other
services (I think) The second choice anyway.

btw - The ipconfig info would be helpful...
