Yes this is linux with XLG

this is what Vista SHOULD have been capable of if they didnt kill all the
innovations from longhorn...

Correction: This is what Vista *is* capable of. Vista just doesn't do things
like THAT because just because it CAN BE DONE doesn't mean it's a GOOD IDEA.

from that article:

Windows Vista will not be shipping with any of the original technologies,
features, capabilities, or subsystems originally promised (and for those of
you that really couldn't tell: it's called sarcasm!). First it was the real
Aero - complete visual control over one's system. Amazing graphics, sidebars
that were a part of the Windows Core, Aero Diamond.

im talking about the 3d capable desktop engine....
I know very well linux is not ready to take over in the desktop area...

Now shoo, run along... go and play with your schoolmates.

Its not the kid that scares me..

Its some people in here eat the vista propaganda.. and like it!
They cheer for more... and they actually have persuaded themselves
that vista is a step forward...

its a combination of outside and internal brainwash....

Even if I present them with facts, they will shove them
away....chuckling...with a crazy smile on their face...

They want their vista and they want it now..... Vistamaniacs? yep....

Windows Vista is capable of doing that, Microsoft however care about the
user experience and spend millions of dollars trying things out on actual
people to decide if it's a good idea or not.

Even having a slight wave on a window when it is moving is distracting at
best, and worse can make people motion sick. When you've got an install
base of close to a billion PCs you have to think about those sort of things.

It is cute, it is pretty, but can I play Need for Speed Most Wanted on it?

All those pretty desktop tools are great looking, but it is still Linux, and
most popular utilities won't run on it. But hey, if that's what floats your
boat. That's all you.

Me, I'll stick with Windows.

Yet you yourself need a little debunking.... you are not giving the correct
facts either!

I remember a longhorn presentation that showed that the user could grab a
window
and enlarge it incrementally so that you could see the letters in any size
you want,
like magnification. Resolutions like 800x600 would have no meaning...

gone would be the days of too small letters or icons that would be
pixilated...

Where is this now? I don't see it in vista...

instead this real dream of longhorn was killed.. and they have us windows xp
with a skin,
and a gui that is very user unfriendly....

Hidden menus, start menus that are stupid, IE that's full of bugs...

I could go on and on and on and on and on and.......

If there is an improvement in vista... it is left for the third party
applications to show this,
since the OS itself shows no improvement. Only problems and bad design.

yet you agree with glass windows and 3d flipping...

A paradox! lol

Out of a million vista users, how many will ever find Flip3D? 1% if
that... I know plenty of people that don't even know what the Windows key
on the keyboard does....

Micro, this is just so ridiculous...

You, who "know Vista better than enybody in this NG"; I wonder if you
actually know ANYTHING on new Vista features or you just ran Vista for
couple of minutes, did basic UI check and done with that.

You are a clown here in this NG, do you know that? A Joker as seen in Batman
movie...

Go read something on Vista for God sake. Start here:
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/vista/default.mspx
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/windowsvista/default.mspx

Yes, we don't have many of promised features in Vista, shame on Microsoft
for that. But saying that there's NOTHING new there that was promised...
That's just ridiculous.

I don't like it. It's clever but I want to get work done, not have a
"graphical extravaganza".

*YAWN* all flash and eyecandy....but you can't run anything designed for
windows.

Some of us consider our computers a tool and not a toy as you do.

I am glad you have your cartoon interface...
