Eratic behaviour, i was able to download music into my mp3
player once, but once i ran norton win-doctor which fixes
windows related problems, the device is not detected.

I have deleted usb root and and controller and XP
reinstalled the usb drivers, still the mp3 player - 256MB
flash drive is not detected.

I had read some of the posting on similar problem and some
have suggested that i need to format my flash drive ! but
how will i format it if it is not recognized and doesnt
show as a removable disk.

Please help, its frustrating! when i cant find ways to fix
this problem,

I do know the USB worked before, for i was able to
download music once, and my webcam works fine, do you
think i should format the flash device in another PC and
try it on my PC again ?

Thanks

Look in your installed devices tab and see if you have and
tabs with a yellow question mark. It may have not
detected the device correctly. If you have any of the
yellow question marks, delete them, plug in your device
and see if it will detect it.

Good luck.

Thank you for responding
where should i look for the Installed devices tab

Yesterday i plugged the player into another NT PC in the university, windows detected the hardware and installed the drivers and the removable disk appeared in Explorer. But when i tried accessing the lettered removable drive it said please insert the disk ?... and i couldnt actually see what was in the drive

Will this information help ! in finding what the problem is

Thank you again, and i lookforward to your response in light of this additional input.
