My History has stopped working!

I've got an odd problem: About 2 weeks ago, the "History" system in
my Internet Explorer (version 6.0.2800.1106, running on Win2000Pro)
stopped working. I generally like to keep the last 500 days of
web pages visited in my history logs, but 2 weeks ago, visited
web sites stopped getting logged. Now, my "today" and "Last Week"
history folders are empty (even though I visited lots of sites),
and links for sites I visit no-longer turn purple (though links
to sites I visited over 2 weeks ago are still purple, and never-
visited links are still blue).

So, what might have busted my history? And how can I fix it?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this!

But I seem to have fixed my own problem. I noticed that even though
my history limit was set to 500 days, I apparently had set it thusly
only about 155 days ago. (It had been set to 90 days before.) So,
I tried rolling the limit number from 500 back to 150, since I'd only
loose about 5 days of history about 4 months ago. Guess what? That
fixed the broken history!

So, apparently IE6 history has some size limit. You can set the
number of days up to 9999, I believe. But if the History system
gets "full", it may stop working after 200 days or 150 days or
whatever. (In my case, about 150 days, but probably varies based
on number of sites visited.)

I consider this a bug. Microsoft should fix History so that its
size is limited only by amount of disk space available, not by some
other arbitrary limit.
