My First Build in a While...

Here's what I'm about to purchase. I don't build PC's too often, and a lot
of the technology changes when I get back to it. I just want to make sure
there are no glaring compatibility or pricing errors here. I have a case
already, and will use onboard sound for now. I'm not a heavy gamer, so the
PC will be used mainly for internet and some multimedia stuff. It will run
Windows XP.

Curious about this CD/DVD drive. Will I be able to view DVD movies with the
right software? Does Samsung make a solid product? I've had bad luck with CD
drives in the past.

What about the board? Is EPOX still pretty reputable? Am I missing any
accessories?

Why are you buying a pata drive, especially wd? Get a seagate sata,
they are better drives with better warranties. I like Lite-on for cd
drives, I guess I'd just rather have them over Samsung.

It's all fairly generic. The video card is pretty much the bottom of the
barrel.Get something decent.Your image quality will suck especially if you
watch DVD's.You migt be better off with an ATI All-in-wonder card. Check
them out. They aren't cheap but there's a lot of models at different
prices.I'd say at least base the video on ATI x600 or X700. I don't usually
recommend ATI,but for multimedia stuff,DVD's etc., the all in wonder is very
good.
