Hi,

my DVD Ram suddenly stops working!!!
the device manager flag it in yellow with the message
A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver
may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)

its a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H10A Ata drive.
(LG drive)

yesterday everything works fine, today the drive stop working.
removing the component in the device manager and rebooting don't solve the
issue.

any idea???
what's appends and what can I do?

thanks.

The first thing to do is to contact LG and see if they have
a Vista driver for the drive. If not, you'll have to wait
until they publish one. Microsoft does not write the
drivers for LG hardware, LG does!

You could try rolling the driver back. Have you altered your system in
anyway since yesterday? Installed any new programs, changed any settings,
anything at all?

Did you install a driver for the dvd-ram drive?
It's not needed under vista, vista supports udf.
I'm using a panasonic dvd-ram drive, with no drivers installed.
It's scsi but I don't believe that should make a difference.
Just my two cents...
