In order to stop My Documents opening on start up I did all this:

I would suggest running all of the cleaners mentioned here:

1. Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

In the right pane under Userinit - Change the key that reads:
C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe
To:
C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,

2. Norton virus check

3. Followed your instructions from previous message

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

This is where I have a key "monitor" explorer.exe

and My documents still open on start up.

Also I found the file you mentioned: There can be a:

Shell: Explorer.exe monitor.exe

but I had already removed monitor.exe bit.

Any idea of how to solve this issue?

Yes, I ran the cleaners you suggested and that hasn't helped.

I wasn't sure what you said in the last message: should I delete Shell: Explorer.exe?

If not can you please suggest what else should I do as it is driving me mad now))
