My Documents Folder Properties

My Documents folder has turned into a Music Folder with the background and
the side bar, and also the fields that show when I ask for document details.
I did a virus scan and a spyware scan and I did a system restore. The virus
scan and spyware came up with nothing at all. The system restore returned
the folder to normal, but in a couple of days, it was back to the Music
folder.

Does anyone know what's going on and if there is a fix for this?

Thanks for any help.

Do you keep any Multimedia files in the My Documents folder
itself ( not sub folders like My Music). ? Perhaps XP is detecting
the presence of Audio or Video files and automatically configuring
the display of content.

Thanks for responding.

There were two music files in My Documents. I removed them, rebooted, and
still had the Music Folder background, etc. Any other ideas?

Perhaps. Have you checked with Tweak-UI to see how your Profile
"Special Folders" are defined. Download/Install - then expand the
My Computer category and then Special Folders. Check to see if
your default My Music or Shared Music are set to. This could also
be an issue with the Desktop.ini file in the folder itself.
Tweak-UI Powertoy for XP (SP1+) found at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Found Mid-Page, along the Right Side border.

Try resetting the folder settings:

Click Start, Run and type C:\
Click Tools, Folder Options
In the View tab, click "Reset all folders"
Click OK.
Close the folder

If that does not help, see here:
