my display is messed up

my pointer has these, almost shawdow like, bars hovering around it

i hav a screen shot of it here: (you cant see the pointer, but the stuff
around the ? thing is what it is):

not to mention, in windows media player and other videos, dark areas
experience generally the same thing, except it is these little redish dots
that occupy the sapce

anybody kno whats goin on how to fix it?

Looks more like a monitor problem to me. What type of monitor do you have.
If CRT see if you can degauss it. Look through the options on the front of
the monitor or have a look through the manual. If its a flat panel I dont
know. Is the problem on just one part of the screen or all over at
different times. You can try upgrading the graphic card drivers see if it
helps. I don't think its a windows problem.

i hav a dell inspiron 600m laptop with a radeon 900

and it occurs all the time, everywhere

on folders, images, everywhere

upgrading seems good

ill give that a try

I repaied a laptop a while back with the same problem and it was a poor
cable connection between the video card and the screen. All I needed to do
was unplug the cable and plug it back in.
