My desktop is broken :)

I foolishly downloaded 70 photos onto my desktop. I immediately created a
folder, Pictures, and placed the photos into the new Pictures folder. this
works fine until I reboot. When I reboots, the photos are out of the folder
and back on the desk top. If I right click onto 'my computer' and hit restore
desktop, the photos go back into the folder. However, interestingly, If I
open up Windows Explorer, even though the photos are in the folder, they
appear in Windows Explorer as if they were on my desktop.

this is not life or death; just confusing as hell

Best thing to do is simply create a folder on your C: drive and put all your
pictures there,
then create a shortcut on your desktop.
