My desktop image doesn't appear!

Hi! I hope someone could help me with this, today I turned on my computer and
everything was fine, then it started to get a little slow as I was
downloading a pdf file for a homework, so, I decided to re-iniciate Windows,
and when it started again, my desktop image dissapeared and instead I got a
really ugly grey color... I can still see the icons, but when I tried to
change the image in the screen options of the control pannel, i couldn't, the
other options for desktop image were inactive.

I hope you understand my problem, thanks!
