My Computer...

How do you restore the original view of 'My Computer' where it shows
sub-categories of items within it like 'Printers', 'Drives', etc rather than
just the same icons as any other folder?

Mine occassionally swaps between views and I have no idea what I do to
affect this (if anything). Either way, I prefer the default view and would
really like to know how to restore it.

You mean - in My Computer's top menu - view --> Arrange Icons By..
(And those settings - like "Show in Groups" and such?)

Well that certainly looks more familiar, yes. It's strange, though, that the
groups are suddenly labeled D, M, L, N and S. Do you know why it suddenly
changes things like this or whether it's just me?

No it's not just you :) sometimes settings will change for whatever reason.

you should be able to click and drag them around
and arrange them as you wish
